Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your donut pan or spray with nonstick spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, sift or whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mix, stirring gently but thoroughly to form a smooth batter. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Spoon or pipe batter into each donut cavity, filling about 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Test doneness with a toothpick; if it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, they are done.
