3 cups bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp instant yeast
1/2 cup warm milk
1/4 cup ube halaya (purple yam jam)
1 egg
3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp ube extract (optional for deeper color)
Instructions
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Add warm milk, ube halaya, egg, and ube extract. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for 10 minutes, then add softened butter. Knead until smooth and elastic.
Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape as desired.
Place in a greased loaf pan and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
